Editing/Filming update

Day two of editing was very similar to day one, but with a different fifteen seconds. Jess and I are the editing dream team, and yesterday we finished the last scene with Bridget and Jonathan. On sunday Arren, Jess and Kim are filming the scenes with Lucy and Jay, I wish I could be there but I have a family event that I couldn't miss, but c'est la vie.  Anyhow, I can't wait to see the footage on monday, until then..

The Final Script

This is the final draft of the script for our film opening.  We chose to (against the possible better judgement of others) revolve our film opening around the dialogue between four people, so it is massively important that our script is funny, and includes romantic connotations. When writing this, we used ideas from the whole group, and (hopefully) have a good, funny and flirtatious script, that follows the convention of our genre.

Script

(On the phone, walking down street with JAY)

Lucy – Yes! (Frustrated)…Okay Mum! We’ll be with you in 5, see you soon…okay….bye! (Hangs up, puts phone in hand bag). Right we’ve got 5 minutes…

Jay – Oo, sounds good to me.. (Starts to push her into a bush)

(Lucy gives Jay a disgusted look) (Jay walks away sulking and Lucy follows)

(Bridget cooking in kitchen) (Shouts)

Bridget – Jonathan!! Stop Pacing around, come make yourself useful!!

(Jonathan walks in – Bridget clicks fingers and points)

Bridget – Vegetables! Now!

(Jonathan mutters and goes to vegetables) (Bridget gives a disgusted look)

(Lucy and Jay walking)

Lucy – You’re not nervous are you? (Rummaging in bag to find lipstick and mirror)

Jay – Pfftt! No, course not!

(Lucy putting on lipstick looking in mirror)

Lucy(laughing) As long as you know their names… (Jay looking shifty) You do know their names?

Bridget – No, it’s not James or Jack it’s Jay!

Jonathan – Jay?! That’s an initial, a letter – I refuse…I refuse to call him that!

(Bridget rolls her eyes and carries on cooking, puts on a smile)

Lucy – My dad’s Jonathan, my mum’s Bridget!

(Jay nicks lipstick off Lucy and writes on right hand BJ remember)

(Jonathan looking through keyhole at Lucy and Jay arriving)

Jonathan – BRIDGET! They’re here, they’re outside!!

(Bridget walks out of kitchen door and peers round to find Jonathan)

(Bridget slaps him over the head)

 (Walking to door)

Lucy – You’ll be fine, just don’t embarrass yourself!

(Lucy and Jay stood face to face outside)

Jay – Alright….give me a kiss quick..

(Lean in for a kiss…Jonathan swings door open) (Lucy and Jay looked surprised)

Jonathan – LOU BE LOU!!

Jay – Oo, you had an eyelash..

(Lucy hugs Jonathan)

Lucy – Hey Daddy! This is Jay…

(she walks into house and hugs her mum)

(Jonathan and Jay put hands out to shake)

Jonathan – Jonathan (nods and looks at hand – shocked/angry face).

Editing update

So today was the first day of editing and as we only have the footage of Bridget and Jonathan, we decided to start from their first scene together.  I really want to say it was easy and took us 20 minutes, but, I won't lie, it took us the WHOLE hour to do 15 seconds worth of video, tops. Stressful is an understatement.  But, on a positive, the fifteen seconds we have is a GOOD fifteen seconds.

Filming update

Today we're filming the third, fifth and seventh scenes in our opening, as we've finally been able to arrange for Matt and Tracy (Bridget and Johnathan) to be in the same room, at the same time as each other, and the majority of us. No idea how this will go, fingers (toes, arms, legs, eyes..) crossed.

FINALLY..

So finally, after almost a month and a half of planning our film opening,  we have come up with a name for our film concept.. So, without further a do, let me introduce you to... ''Let me Explain'.
